In order to combat the G.I. Joe Team's motorcycles - the R.A.M. and later the Silver Mirage - Cobra created an armed A.T.V. The first prototype was 3-wheeled and armed with 4 heat seeking missiles.
Building off the first prototype, the second prototype had a sleeker design and smaller missiles but was still not as effective as desired. Both of these 3-wheelers tended to tip easily when cornering at high speeds.
Further development focused on a 4-wheeled vehicle, leading to the production of the Ferret A.T.V.
Notes
