- Airwave is a G.I. Joe character from the A Real American Hero series.
If there are exceptional people, Airwave must be one of them. He believes in the search for solutions to problems, not in limitations of equipment. Once, his team's radio was destroyed, he readjusted a broken phone's circuitry to call in artillery to a precise location. Thus, his teammates call him the master of improvisation.

Trivia[]
- As with every Sky Patrol action figure, Airwave's body mold originally came from a pre-existing character but with an all new head mold.
- The Sky Patrol parachutes and backpacks are repaints of the green Parachute Pack first available by mail in 1984.
- Airwave's given name, Cliff V. Mewett, is the same as Colonel Courage's. No explanation has been given as to why the two have the same name nor why one is Caucasian from Louisville, Kentucky, and one is African-American from Boston.
