Bored one evening after leaving her class on heroism in history, she attended a G.I. Joe martial arts exhibition featuring Quick Kick. Amber volunteered to spar with Quick Kick and surprised him with her skills. The two began dating, despite their lack of other common interests. Suspicion arose as to her being a spy, so she infiltrated a Cobra base to prove her innocence. There she discovered that the true spy had been the Baroness, who had disguised herself as Lady Jaye.
