- Sgt. Slaughter's Renegades is a G.I. Joe splinter cell made up of unlikely soldiers recruited and led by Sgt. Slaughter. The Renegades consist of ex-football player Red Dog, former circus strongman Taurus, and ex-Cobra Viper Mercer. Their base of operation is a secret location codenamed "The Slaughterhouse".
Fiction[]
G.I. Joe: The Movie (1987)[]
After being court-martialed for failing to do his duty that resulted in Serpentor being rescued and landing Alpine, Bazooka, and Gung-Ho in the hospital, Lt. Falcon was sentenced to The Slaughterhouse. After being dropped in the middle of a desert wasteland by Lift-Ticket, Falcon was greeted by the Renegades, who proceeded to rough him up. After breaking them up, Sgt. Slaughter quickly introduced the Green Beret to the rowdy trio before they and Slaughter drove off on motorcycles, leaving Falcon to huff it to the Slaughterhouse. Though they didn't care too much for the young officer, the Renegades began to warm up to Falcon (Red Dog, at one point, helped Falcon, who was struggling to do pull-ups).
Later on, Sgt. Slaughter informed the Renegades and Falcon about a mission to infiltrate the Terror Drome. After Falcon suggested to conduct the mission without weapons, the ragtag trio gave the Green Beret a snarling glare.[1]
