The Arbco Star was a shipping freighter resting on the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. Though it looked like a normal shipwreck, its hull was reinforced to withstand tectonic forces and it was outfitted with hydraulic stabilizers to keep it upright.
Once Cobra Island formed under the freighter, it became a landmark on the new scrap of land.
