The main cast of Decepticons for Arc 1, drawn by Daniel Warren Johnson.
The Decepticons are Cybertronians fighting on the side of evil in the Energon Universe Transformers comics from Skybound.
The most powerful of the Decepticons, led by Megatron, came from Cybertron to Earth upon a ship known as the Ark, which they stormed after departing from the Nemesis, their ship, whilst some remained behind to continue the fight, led by Shockwave. After Megatron disappeared during the fight on the Ark, Starscream succeeded him as the leader of the faction. After the Seeker did an abysmal job as the leader, through trial by combat, Soundwave emerged the victor, taking over as the newest Decepticon leader.
The Decepticons are on the losing side of their war with the Autobots and currently facing a civil war with Soundwave, Thundercracker, Rumble and the Constructicons on one side, and Starscream, Astrotrain and the Combaticons on the other.

Decepticons[]
Megatron[]
Megatron is the legendary and true leader of the Decepticon Order.
He led the Decepticons when the Cybertronian Civil War broke out. After a battle broke out near a lab, he ran into a scientist named Ulchtar carrying the body of a fellow Decepticon, Genvo. Upon hearing Ulchtar ponder his purpose now that his friend was dead, Megatron offered the scientist to join the cause as a warrior and avenge those he lost, especially Genvo. Upon transforming into his pistol mode and landing in Ulchtar's hands, he asked for his name, only to learn that he wanted to be called by a new name: Starscream.
Upon a battle with the newly self-christened Starscream, they managed to capture three Autobots, with the Decepticon leader offering them to join the cause. Upon seeing their defiance, he transformed into his pistol mode and told the Seeker to "do what must be done". He informed Starscream that he's limited in his alt mode, needing someone to wield him. The Seeker initially refused, but Megatron told him not to fight it, using what seemed to be mind-control powers to force him to do his bidding, making him kill one of the prisoners. Upon hearing Starscream apologise for killing the second one, the Decepticon leader pushed him to keep going, to do what's necessary for the Decepticon good and not apologise for it. As the war continued to rage on, Megatron conditioned Starscream into his executioner and his hand of death, all the while convincing him that this would help bring Cybertron to its former glory, making him kill reluctantly at first, then simply complying, to killing with vicious pleasure.
At some point during the early days of the war, the Autobots had an astronomical amount of numerical losses, leading to Optimus making the tough call to lead some of them off-world in the Ark in the hopes of getting more Energon. Megatron and the strongest of the Decepticons followed them aboard the Nemesis whilst leaving a few Decepticons behind to continue the war back on Cybertron to maintain Decepticon rule under Shockwave.
Whilst they were in Earth's orbit, most of the Decepticons boarded the Ark. After the Decepticon leader boarded the Ark, dealt with Jazz, Cliffjumper and Wheeljack as well as killed Brawn, he engaged in a fight with Optimus. He quickly lost ground and Megatron punctured his right optic after mocking him, but not before Optimus could activate his Energon Axe and slice off the Fusion Cannon arm of the Decepticon leader. He was then kicked towards an exit. Starscream saw him in trouble and decided to usurp him as the Decepticon leader, firing his Null Ray at Megatron. This resulted in him losing his right optic and being blasted off the Ark, plummeting to Earth and landing somewhere icy, where he was stuck for a long period of time.
At some point, Cobra Commander found him and brought him to a science compound, repairing the Decepticon leader (except for his right optic) and sectioning off his left arm, keeping it locked away in a room close by. He also kept Megatron on his knees and had wires and a machine attached to his shoulder joints, hiring scientists to study Megatron and discover his origins and his secrets.
When Cobra Commander returned to the compound after being brought to Golobulus and Cobra-La, he voiced his thoughts aloud to the seemingly-inactive Megatron, stating that whilst Cobra-La might be advanced for Earth, it can't compare to what's out in space, showing Megatron's memories as footage on screens, revealing characters such as a Guardian Robot Kickback and several Seekers in their tetrajet alt modes as well as a view of Cybertron from space, Cobra Commander also gloats that, whilst the scientists tried to communicate with him to make the Decepticon leader willingly reveal his secrets, he found a way to get some answers directly, pulling the lever that activated the machine, which was revealed to have the capability to painfully steal Energon from Megatron. After extracting some Energon, Cobra Commander also revealed that, in the outside world, there were energy signatures similar to the one the Decepticon leader has, pulling out the footage of Optimus missing his right optic during Megatron's last moments on the Ark. He tells him that he plans to track them down and learn of their source of transformative fuel so that no force in the world in Cobra-La or the rest of the world will be able to stop the army that he plans to gift to Golobulus, one that he as the Cobra Commander will lead. After he leaves the compound, the Decepticon leader smiles, knowing that his fellow Cybertronians are awake and waging war again, with his left optic shining brightly.
After some time, he recalled boarding the Ark, killing Brawn, his final battle with Optimus, losing his Fusion Cannon arm and Starscream's betrayal. Screaming out the name of the treacherous Seeker, he began a one-man prison break, breaking free of his bonds before he could be shut down, killing a scientist under his left foot and threatening to kill another under the same foot. Giving the scientist a chance to spare himself and go back to his family of two boys, he demanded for the location of his arms, only to learn from the scientist that only one, and that it was held in a nearby room. He thanked the scientist and spared him. Then, he proceeded to kick the doors of the room down with his left leg, reuniting with his left arm and hastily attaching it back on with ease as purple electricity crackled. Golobulus arrived with his Royal Guard on his war mount, ordering them and their creatures to not let the Decepticon leader, "the beast", escape. Embracing the derogatory alias for himself, he lived up to it by decimating their ranks. Golobulus threw more derogatory names at Megatron like "inorganic filth", with his war mount swiftly biting his left hand and punching him in the head. As soon as the Cobra-La leader told him that he still belonged to him, Megatron swiftly retaliated by addressing him as a "pathetic insect" and got out his Energon Mace, reminding him that he belonged to no one as he killed the war mount, only for Golobulus to use its death as a springboard to shoot his spear through the Decepticon's left optic, rendering him blind. Megatron switched out his Energon Mace for his left hand to remove the spear. As he did so, he yelled out his status as the leader of the Decepticon Order, the true and only way as he flew upwards to escape the battle, bursting out and onto the snowy surface above his prison. Though blinded, he knew his goal as he furiously gritted his teeth, swearing to find Starscream and make him pay.
As of Issue 15, Soundwave has sent Laserbeak to find him and bring the Decepticons back to their former glory.
