A Real American Hero (1989)
Downtown was released in the 1989 series of A Real American Hero toys. Appearance: yellow hair; blue-green shirt with black pockets, orange straps, and green padding on stomach; light brown pants with black belt, brown boots, and orange shin guards Accessories: soft, orange helmet; large, black backpack with pouches on sides and slots on back for shells; large, black revolver with trigger guard; large, black three-piece mortar (tube, sight, and stand); six black mortar shells with grooves and fins near back. Variations: Downtown was available with either hands that matched his fleshtone or hands that were slightly more yellow. |

- The first mortar specialist since 1982's Short-Fuze.
- Continues the tradition, begun in 1985, of an annual "sports" figure (though Downtown does not wear a sports-style uniform). Previous figures were Bazooka, Sgt. Slaughter, The Fridge, and Hardball. Capt. Grid-Iron would follow in 1990.
