- The Dragonfly is a G.I. Joe vehicle from the A Real American Hero series.
If there is one helicopter in the G.I. Joe arsenal that proves a classic will always work, it has to be the Dragonfly. With a body and design based on the United States Marine Corps' AH-1T SeaCobra, but with customizations special to the Joe Team, the Dragonfly is tough enough to fly through almost any weather condition and operate in brightest day and in darkest of nights.

The Dragonfly seats two people and has a maximum load capacity of 9,000 lbs. Twin turbo shaft engines allow it to reach speeds of 220mph and go as far as 510 miles. Primary offensive capabilities involve a multitude of missiles, including Sidewinders, 25mm Vulcan chain gun that fires 1200 rounds of ammo, and a laser-guided 160mm cannon pod. All of that is supplemented by a pair of X-551 mini-cannons and a M-34 grenade launcher, both located at the turret section. The Dragonfly is provided with a high-resolution radar system and a classified electronics system.

The Joes flew to New England in several Dragonflies to meet an esteemed scientist. When the meeting turned out to be a Cobra ambush, the Joes were surprised, but their elite training and superiority of the Dragonflies enabled them to overcome the H.I.S.S. and F.A.N.G.s.[1]
During the battle over the Ring of Fire, several Dragonflies entered the fray to battle Cobra over the meteor which serves as one of three catalytic elements to the M.A.S.S.[2]
Several Dragonflies also took part in the storming of the Cobra Temple where air superiority enabled them to win a literal uphill battle.[3]

Trivia[]
- In a survey of readers of the Action Force weekly comic, the Dragonfly was voted "Favourite vehicle".
- Whereas the toy Dragonfly seated only a crew of two, the animated series frequently depicted, at least, two people sitting in the rear seat.
- In reality, without a tail rotor to counteract the torque generated from the main rotor, the Dragonfly would be very hard to control and it did not seem to have a "NOTAR" (NO TAil Rotor) mechanism like the McDonell Douglas MD600.
