Drop Zone is not made for the military, he is the military. He relishes every waking moment serving his country and taking part in any mission. He volunteers for every hazardous assignment that come his way. You can describe him as being patriotic down to the bone. He has an innate unshakable belief that honor and duty still has a meaning even in a complex society that has become too cynical. That doesn't make him naive, no. He is still fully aware of the cruel realities of life and battle. It's just that he doesn't let the negativity get to him.

Generation 1
Drop Zone 1990 A Real American Hero (1990)

Drop Zone has only ever had one figure, included in the 1990 Sky Patrol subset of the Real American Hero toys.

Appearance: black hair; dark orange suit with grey vest and brown wristbands and leg coverings; brown belt; brown and grey boots

Accessories: grey full-head helmet with detachable, reddish brown visor; brown handheld, double barreled cannon with shoulder harness; silver parachute in brown parachute pack. page/Filecard

  • As with every Sky Patrol action figure, Drop Zone's body mold originally came from a pre-existing character but with an all new head mold.
  • The Sky Patrol parachutes and backpacks are repaints of the green Parachute Pack first available by mail in 1984.
  • Larry Hama submitted two different potential filecards for this character. The one that saw release is a mix of both created by Hasbro.
