The Riptide was Cobra's main large submarine. It was primarily used as an underwater mobile base during times when Cobra was waiting for the completion of another of their headquarters.
The submarine displaced 4,200 tons when submerged and 2,450 tons when on the surface. The vessel had a top speed of 12 knots on the surface and 25 knots submerged, with a maximum range of 8,300 miles.
