Torpedo can be described as the consummate professional. You can always rely on him to do the job to the best of his ability and that's it. Don't count on him to do any high-five or victory dance when the mission is done. Off-mission, he is only preoccupied with his obsessions, namely perfecting his fighting skills and improving his demolitions gear. He is a strict vegetarian. He has the personality of a cold fish.

Torpedo is a black belt in three martial arts, namely Wushu, Kenpo and Go-Ju-Ryu and proficient with the Filipino Balisong knife. He did it all by age 19. He is also a qualified diving instructor.

Torpedo

One variation of Torpedo from the A Real American Hero animated continuity.

Torpedo was brought in to lead the mission to acquire the second catalyst needed to power the Joes' own M.A.S.S. Device. As the only marine environment specialist at the time, he knew how to traverse the deep trench to get to the heavy water element. As it turns out, Cobra is there and so are giant tubeworms which started attacking both groups. He proposes to the Baroness to team together against the tubeworms and both groups manage to make it alive and with the heavy water.[2] Torpedo later participated in the storming of the Cobra Temple as one of the infantry team following Gung-Ho's charge to battle.[3]

Trivia[]

  • In the Sunbow animated series, Torpedo is depicted as gregarious and extroverted.
  • Torpedo was named after Marvel Comics inker Steve Leialoha.
  • Though his filecard says he has a black belt in kenpo, it should actually be kempo: Shorinji Kempo, based on Shaolin Temple Boxing, a non-competitive Zen art.
