Cobra Commander resumes his vendetta against Destro.
Detailed summary
Destro Must Die
A group of Vipers reports to Cobra Commander that Zartan and Billy are missing, along with an aircraft. Tomax and Xamot try to cheer up the Commander with the profits from Benzheen, but he remains upset. Tomax suggests starting with the "Destro Operation."
In Scotland, Destro and Baroness observe a housing development being built, which Baroness suspects to be a Cobra front. MacHeath, Destro's gameskeeper, interrupts them.
After Destro and Baroness leave, MacHeath gives the all-clear signal into a radio. Low-Light, Big Ben, and Flint subdue a local worker and realize he is not really a local by checking his brand of underwear.
The Joes have a confrontation with Zartan and Billy but are able to escape. Metal Head reports to Destro that Cobra Commander may be planning a strike against him. Destro seems unconcerned, even though Metal Head had been working for Cobra Commander.
The next day, Hawk, Lady Jaye, and Snake Eyes arrive, and Flint briefs them on the situation. Cobra Commander leads a strike against the castle, and MacHeath assists in trying to fight off Cobra in a Razorback.
As MacHeath destroys some buildings in the housing development, Destro realizes what has happened. The workers were all hypnotized with a Brainwave Scanner, and they've been digging under the castle to set explosive charges. MacHeath, who reveals that he's actually Chuckles, takes Destro and Baroness out of range of the castle.
Cobra Commander captures the Baroness, but Zartan and Billy rescue Destro and Chuckles in a helicopter. However, Billy knocks Destro out with a nerve hold.

Memorable quotes
- Cobra Commander: Arrrrrgh! I want them to be dead! Dead! Dead! Dead!", and for that matter practically everything else in his rant over the first three pages, which is melodramatic even by his standards.
Other Notes
Errors
- Last issue, the bodies in the freighter were skeletons - this issue, they're whole, intact and identifiable.
- When the house is revealed to be full of dirt, "MacHeath" says he figured as much. But how does he know? He's in a Razorback behind the castle walls, so he can't see the houses, and Destro's comment to the Baroness could not have been heard from that far away.[1]
- The Arashikage Death Touch must be pretty potent if it even works through a beryllium-steel battle helmet.
Items of note
- First appearance: Big Ben, Crimson Guard Immortals, Paralyzer
- Lots of new costumes debut in this issue. Cobra Commander, Hawk, Snake-Eyes and Low-Light all get updated looks to match their newer toys.
- The workers Cobra is using are the residents of Millville.[2]
Dossiers
- The dossier in this issue features Roadblock.
Real-world references
- Cobra Commander's tv is a Sony.
- "C Mart" is a standin for Kmart.
Footnotes and References
- โ The "No Prize" solution is that Chuckles secretly bugged either Destro or the Baroness, and is listening in on their conversation via an earpiece.
