A familiar old face returns.

Detailed summary

Firefly
In a shocking revelation, Firefly unveils his true identity as the leader of the Red Ninjas to Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes. Amidst the confusion, Slice and Dice launch an attack on Firefly, only to be swiftly defeated by a secret Arashikage Ninja Clan technique. Storm Shadow offers some context to Firefly's past, describing him as a saboteur who had ties to the Ninja Force.

Storm Shadow further reveals that Firefly played a role in the murder of the Soft Master, having been present when Scrap Iron committed the crime. However, this conflicts with Firefly's supposed death on a freighter at Cobra Island, raising questions about his true fate.

Firefly clarifies his survival by explaining how he utilized abandoned B.A.T.s to escape the freighter and used Serpentor's body as a decoy to throw off pursuers.

Not only did Firefly survive, but he also discloses his former identity as the Faceless Master from the Arashikage Clan. Possessing the ability to manipulate others through hypnosis, he could make people unable to see his face and appear as a blur in photographs. Adopted by the Koga Ninja Clan, Firefly became the first outlander to achieve the rank of full master ninja.

He recounts being hired by Cobra Commander to assassinate Snake Eyes, but after realizing he was no match for his target, he recommended Zartan for the job instead.

In a final display of power, Firefly subdues all the ninjas with knockout gas and threatens to use the Brainwave Scanner on them.

Other Notes

Errors

  • Even if Dr. Mindbender had put Serpentor's body on ice, the ice should have melted by the time the freighter was buried.
  • Previously, Zartan had revealed that he was Professor Onihashi's apprentice,[1] and that he was in the Arashikage family photo, leading many to believe he was the Faceless Master. Now it was Firefly?[2]

Items of note

  • Origin of Firefly.
  • Zartan and Firefly both worked their way into the Arashikage Clan through Professor Onihashi - Zartan as an apprentice swordsmith, Firefly as an "assistant." What's the difference?
  • The Arashikage family photo[3] is shown.
