A skirmish at a Cobra-enforced blockade at the Suez Canal is interrupted in more ways than one.

Plot[]

A aerial clash over the Suez Canal between Conquests from the USS Flagg and Night Ravens, one of which Dr. Mindbender is aboard, occurs after Dusty, Snake Eyes, and Recondo are spotted by Vipers is interrupted by a UFO, which is damaged by a Cobra mini-drome under Mindbender's orders.

General Hawk and Beachhead both notice that the attack dislodged a piece of the mysterious intruder, so they dispatch a squad lead by Sgt. Slaughter to find it before Cobra does. They almost achieve their objective, but the object is inadvertently activated by a blast from the Baroness' laser rifle.

Memorable Quotes[]

Beach Head: "Better shoot that thing down! It might be a new Cobra weapon!"

Hawk: "No, we don't know what it is. G.I Joe does not shoot first and ask questions later."

Dr. Mindbender, to his troops: "Shoot first and ask questions later! It might be a new G.I. Joe weapon!"

-- Beach Head, Hawk, and Dr. Mindbender seeing an unidentified ship flying above them.

"I wonder what those ancient Greeks are saying about us right now … uh um …  right then …  uh right whenever."

"That’s an easy one, just go look in any history book"

-- Lady Jaye and Lifeline discuss the ramifications of time travel.

Continuity Errors[]

  • In one scene Lifeline is show holding a gun, which goes against his principles of pacifism.

Animation and Technical Glitches[]

  • In one scene, the words "G.I. Joe" and the star on the side of the Tomahawk are just outlined, not filled in with white as in other scenes.

Miscellaneous Trivia[]

  • Ancient Greek is indeed markedly different (and harder to learn) than modern Greek. It was composed of four distinct dialects: Ionic, Doric, Aeolic, and Arcadocypriot. More often than not, when someone mentions "Ancient Greek", they are referring to the Attic variant of Ionic spoken by Athenians.
  • The Strato-Viper acting as Dr. Mindbender's gunner is voiced by a woman, perhaps this is foreshadowing of Raven.
