General Philip Rey

Phillip Rey is a Serpentor Clone character from the A Real American Hero series.

General Philip Rey is a clone of Serpentor created by Dr. Mindbender to replace Serpentor if he were to ever die in combat. However, Zandar handed him over to the Jugglers who release him from his containment pod and placed him in the US Military. Rey would impress the Jugglers with his commanding skills in battle to the point where they made him leader of the GI Joe Team. While leading the team, Rey would impress the likes of Flint in battle and win the respect of the Joes. However, after the Joes disbanded following their fight with the Red Shadows, Rey would rejoin the US Military before Cobra Commander, disguised as Garrett Freedlowe, placed him on the Phoenix Guard to attack the Joes' new base of operations the Rock. After the attack, Rey sought redemption for his action and sought out Duke for forgiveness & to learn about his past. On their quest for discovery Crystal Ball reveals the truth about Rey. General Rey would earn Duke's trust and Duke agrees to keep Rey's secret between the two of them & General Colton. Duke also promised to drop Rey if he saw signs of Serpentor in him.
