The fifth version of Cobra's H.I.S.S. series is by far the most radical and sophisticated change to the design so far. It is also fastest and sleekest of all H.I.S.S. models. This version features large triangular treads and a smaller body equipped with twin, nose-mounted machine guns, and at least four hard-points for interchangeable weapons. The entire body can be raised on hydraulic lifts, and rotate like a tank turret. Its main weakness is its expense, and assembly between the treads and the main body is a major weak-point.
Types of Mark-V H.I.S.S. Tanks[]
Mark-V Type-A: This type features an armored canopy, and the gunner is protected by the hull with an underbelly hatch at the rear. They can also mount a backpack on each side of the body. The rear underside has special mounting for a H.I.S.S. Attack Scout vehicle. As long as the Attack Scout is mounted, the gunner cannot escape, and the articulation of the H.I.S.S. is hindered. So far, this type has been seen in the colors of brown, black, and red (see Crimson Type, bellow).
Mark-V Type-B: This type features a windowed canopy, an extended nose, and a dorsal-mounted gun turret, with an exposed gunner's seat. So far, this type has only been seen in blue.
Crimson Type: This is a Type-A painted red, and operated by a class of Crimson Guardsmen called "Crimson Horseman."
