Munitia was originally scheduled to be released by Hasbro in 2006 as a part of the canceled Direct To Consumer (DTC) line. She is now scheduled to be released by the G.I. Joe Collector's Club in February of 2009.

The original presentation of Munitia to fans was met with great excitement. She was to be the first new figure of a female Cobra operative introduced since Vypra in 1998. However, Munitia's path to production was preempted by the Collector Club's pack of female Night Stalker Shock Troops in the 2007 set Tanks For The Memories.

In the Devil's Due comics, Munitia was included as a member of the elite death squad known as the Plague. She is characterized as a tank operator, mercenary, and bounty hunter.

She is also one third of a Cobra team that calls itself the Hierachy of Infiltration, Stealth and Sabotage (HISS). The other members are Blackout and Firefly.
