Muskrat is a G.I. Joe character from the A Real American Hero series.

As one of the Joe Team's best swamp fighters, Muskrat honed much of his skills since he was a youth in Louisiana's swamps. In addition to hunting swamp critters, he had to deal with the occasional criminal element that wanders into the territory. He has been doing it for long enough that he has become an expert in fighting in the swamps; putting up camouflage and setting up traps; and throwing off others from his tracks. By the time he got through basic training and got himself into jungle warfare training, he was disappointed that they weren't really teaching him any new tricks at all.

Trivia[]

  • The only 80s Sunbow animation to feature Muskrat were the commercials.
  • Working names: Mossback, Swamp-Runner, Bayou, Wet Willy, Swamp Dawg, Gumbo and Bad-Bayou.
  • Originally, the 1993 figure was meant to be included as part of the second set of Drug Elimination Force action figures for that year. When Hasbro decided to not continue the D.E.F. line, the figure was included in the Battle Corps sub-line. However, in some countries, it was still released as D.E.F.
  • While there are many ties between G.I. Joe and other Hasbro or Sunbow works, there aren’t many connecting G.I. Joe and My Little Pony. However, the human siblings in the 1986 MLP movie (Megan, Daniel and Molly) share Muskrat’s last name. It is unknown if these characters are related to him in any way.
