- In one episode of the cartoon, Storm Shadow was seen trying to teach ninjitsu to some Cobra Troopers.[1] Though these were not Ninja Vipers, it's the first time the idea of more than one ninja in the Cobra ranks had been explored.

Ninja Vipers were only available through the mail-in offers "Terror on the Tundra" in 1992 and "Menace in the Wilderness" in 1993. Appearance: teal face mask, short-sleeved tunic, and pants; white wrist wraps and diagonal straps; teal green boots; red Cobra insignia on left chest. Accessories: two grey "'87 Jinx" swords. Variations: There are variations in the darkness of the swords (light and dark) and the Cobra insignia (light, medium, and dark). Some came with no swords at all. | |

The Ninja Vipers returned in 2008, available carded as part of Series 12 of the Generation 3 A Real American Hero toys. Appearance: teal face mask, short-sleeved hooded tunic, and pants; white belt; bamboo shin guards; teal boots; red Cobra insignia on left chest. Accessories: two swords, a black submachine gun, a silver claw, a knife, a silver backpack, black rope, two sickles connected with a black string, and a black display stand. |

- Since the Ninja Vipers come from the Viper ranks, they are not Arashikage ninjas, like the Red Ninjas are.
