History
Ripcord's best friend was Conrad Hauser, call-sign Duke. They both served in a Spec Ops team for the United States Army. While transporting a Nano-Bomb in a convoy, they were attacked by an enemy gunship. In this attack, fellow team-mate Rex was left for dead.
Duke and Ripcord were rescued by strangers and evacuated. The two were taken back to their saviors' base of operations, The Pit. Duke and Ripcord would come to join their organization, G.I. Joe.
Ripcord helped ease tension within his team with his quick wit. Ripcord was a HALO, or "High Altitude Low Opening", jumper for the military unit, and therefore part of the Airborne Infantry.
