Animated Continuity - Sunbow[]

SNAKE

The S.N.A.K.E. from the A Real American Hero animated Continuity.

In the animated series, the SNAKEs weren't battle armors, they were battle robots. Basically, they were predecessors to the BATs, albeit really clumsy predecessors.

Three SNAKEs were deployed to act as guards to a mine in the Arctic's Sea of Ice where one of the catalytic elements that power the MASS is located. They surprised the arriving G.I. Joe Team and their armor proved to be formidable to conventional firearms. However, their core programming still lacks sophistication and the Joes tricked two of them into destroying each other while they danced around the third one into confusion.[1]

The movie had what seems to be a larger version in the background of one scene during the infiltration of the Terror Drome by Sgt. Slaughter and his recruits.

Toys[]

Toy Editions[]

The SNAKE was issued in 1983. The toy was a plastic shell that opened to hold an action figure. The toys had movable arms and arm mounted weapons.

Like many early toys in this series, the red and white colors on the decals were prone to scratching off.
