He doesn't talk, but he doesn't need to. Snake Eyes says it all with his ninja sword and Plasma Pulse Uzi. Trained by the ace Arashikage clan, this masked mercenary used to show up just for special missions whenever Scarlett called. She can "translate" what he's thinking. He's not used to teamwork, but now that he's joined G.I. Joe, his sense of honor won't let him walk away.

Animated Continuity[]

Snake Eyes is the hand-to-hand combat and ninjitsu expert on the animated series G.I. Joe: Renegades. Mysterious and silent, Snake Eyes acts as Scarlett's best asset in her mission to expose Cobra Industries as a multinational criminal organization. He is also seen to have a close bond with her. Snake Eyes first appeared to the Joes during a firefight with Cobra's guards. After a quick demonstration of his abilities, wisecracking Wallace Weems was surprised to learn that he already had a nickname.

EARLY LIFE

At a younger age, Snake Eyes rescues Kim Arashikage with the help of Tomisaburo, the daughter of the Hard Master. When the Hard Master, first meets Snake Eyes, he is ashamed of Tomisaburo, for needing the help of gaijin(foreigner). But thanks him for saving the life of his child. He is taken in by the Hard Master in his clan, the Arashikage Clan. The Hard Master remarks he has the steely stare of a snake, thus naming him Snake Eyes. There he trains alongside Tomisaburo, them become like brothers, according to Kim, more like Cain and Abel. As they get older, they have a duel and Tomisaburo wins intending to deal a death blow, a tradition of the Arashikage clan since its inception. The Hard Master demands Tomisaburo stand down and saves Snake Eye’s life. The Hard Master announces to all viewing the match, that the Arashikage will be led down a new path, a peaceful path inspired by Snake Eye’s morality. This enrages Tomisaburo and all onlookers.

From here, the similarities to Cain and Abel increase, Tomisaburo poisons Snake Eye’s cup but not Hard Masters', but a worker spills some tea and knocks the cups over putting the cups in the place of the other. When Hard Master comes in to talk to Snake Eyes, reveals he intends to let Snake Eyes lead the Arashikage after his rule is over. When Hard Master drinks out of his cup, he knows it has been poisoned and knocks Snake Eye’s cup of his hand. Hard Master collapses on the ground from the poison. Snake Eyes tries to save Hard Master by performing a tracheostomy to allow him to breath. Then, Tomisaburo hears the commotion and rushes in to see Snake Eyes with a sharp object pointed at his Uncle's throat, and throws Shuriken at him, slicing his throat. Causing Snake Eyes to forever lose the ability to talk. He then leaves with Kim.

Time passes, and he gets a request for a job from, Patrick O'Hara, a scientist at Cobra Industries. Planning to use it for transporting its military, not the world without borders, Patrick envisioned. O'Hara disgusted at what Cobra was doing with his technology, the Molecular Assembler Scrambler Sender (MASS Device), he calls Snake Eyes to help him destroy it. Patrick seemingly sacrifices himself to ensure the destruction of the MASS device, he asks Snake Eyes to look after his daughter Shana. They are successful, but at the cost of Snake Eye’s health, he is seriously burned from the explosion caused by the destruction of the MASS device. He keeps his promises and meets Shana and taking her under his wing and training her.
