- Cobra replaces the Pentagon's top brass with artificial humans known as... synthoids!
Plot[]
Cobra Commander and Zartan formulate an elaborate scheme to dismantle the GI Joe team by replacing their superior US military officers with synthetic duplicates called "synthoids". When these imposters are in place, they begin to slash the Joes operating budget, depriving them of needed supplies like ammunition, fuel and replacement parts for vehicles, as well as newer and updated equipment. The Joes soon find themselves unable to battle with Cobra forces.
However, the most diabolical part of the Commander's and Zartan's plan involves kidnapping Duke and replacing him with a synthoid, an operation that succeeds. The false Duke then undermines the command structure and collective confidence of the Joe team, also acting as a spy for Cobra Commander.
