Tormod Skoog was attending U of M when he decided to take a semester abroad. At Imperial College London, he met a girl and fell in love. When he returned to the States, she was killed in a bus bombing. When he joined the army, he became an EOD specialist, able to keep cool under pressure because he didn't fear death - he viewed it as a chance to finally be reunited with his love.[1]
While disarming a large bomb in a car's trunk in Iraq, Skoog was observed by Hawk, who later questioned him about his choice not to cut any of the wires.[1]
