- Vapor is a Cobra character from the A Real American Hero series.
Very few Cobra pilots could ever achieve the level of notoriety that Wild Weasel has achieved. This, however, does not stop them from aspiring for a reputation as one of the organization's best pilots. One such pilot/group of pilots is/are Vapor. His/their flying skills are only on par with most average pilots. In order to get ahead of the competition, he/they have willingly let himself/themselves worked over with cybernetic components. By simply jacking in a cable to a shunt in his/their head, he/they can directly interface with the jet's onboard computers, giving him/them immediate data on enemy location and a quick lock on his/their target. His/their first-hit probability dramatically rises when using this ability. It does come at a price though, he/they would suffer excruciating headache and blurry vision as his brain attempts to keep up with the information overload.

Trivia[]
- Vapor made a couple of appearances in the DiC Series as a mute background extra that gave no clue as to if it was meant to be an individual or a character.
- G.I. Joe: America's Elite #25 included a backup feature that presented a threat matrix of faces presenting Vapor as a unique character.
- However, A Real American Hero #279 established Vapor as being a common pilot type with multiple examples being seen in the issue. A Crimson Guard refers to one as being "just a low-ranked Vapor".
- In short, Vapor seems to be both an individual and a type of Cobra trooper depending on the continuity.
