Trivia

  • In the UK, he was a basic "Cobra" with no mention of the term "Iron Grenadiers."
  • Voltar is one of the villains never to appear in the 1980s Sunbow cartoon in any way, shape or form. This is because an animation model was evidently not ready, which is why he was never even animated for commercials. This means he is never seen in any flashbacks showing him as a child where he, of course, wouldn't have had his beard and he even misses those popular continuity goofs where he loses his moustache and only has a beard.
  • Voltar appears as the boss at the end of section 4-3 of the NES Taxan G.I. Joe game.
  • Despite the code name and what breed people speculate his pet to be, his pet is an Andean condor, not a vulture. This is why and how is code name is 'Voltar' not 'Vulture' (thereby it should have said "Andean condor meat" when you are about to encounter him after beating 4-2 in said NES game instead of "vulture meat").
